Our History...

Hughes Resources originally opened in Freeport in 1995 under the name workplace. With a focus on traditional staffing, the company built its name with a reputation for excellence and a strong commitment to community. In 2003, the Freeport office of workplace was purchased by native Vanessa (Knapp) Hughes. While continuing to serve clients staffing requirements, additional services were added to make the newly named Hughes Resources a provider for all Human Resource needs.

Putting the Pieces Together

Hughes Resources stresses the importance of continuing education of its employees in order to provide knowledgeable advice to our clients on best hiring practices and ensure compliance with ever changing employment regulations. In order to accomplish this goal, all our staff is either currently certified or working towards certification through the American Staffing Association (ASA) and/or the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

To become certified through HRCI as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), an applicant must demonstrate theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management, pass a rigorous examination and complete continuing education to retain the certification. ASA’s Certified Staffing Professional^TM program enhances the competency and knowledge of labor and employment law of any professional who interacts with candidates, employees, and clients.

These qualifications allow us to provide specialized HR management services on a project-by-project or on-going basis. Some of our expanded services include nationwide executive searches, employee leasing options and customer experience evaluations. Whatever the need, Hughes Resources can develop solutions to fit to your human capital puzzle.
